Fourth day of South Pars Phase 13 workers’ protest

Contract workers in phase 13 of Asaluyeh began their protest in their dormitory on November 12.

Around 200 contract workers involved in plumbing and piping work in phase 13 of the Asaluyeh Special Economic Zone have not been paid since late May. The workers gathered on site, and then in front of the Governor’s Office in Kangan County, Bushehr Province (southern Iran), to demand payment of their unpaid wages.

No official from the Governor’s Office was prepare to meet the workers to hear their grievances. In the end the workers had to return to their dormitory.

There have been many protests by contract workers in the Asaluyeh Special Economic Zone during the past few months.
