Pedram Nasrollahi arrested
Pedram Nasrollahi, a well-know Kurdish labour activist and a member of the Co-ordination Committee for the Formation of Labour Organisations, was arrested by the Iranian regime’s security forces at 12 noon on June 21, 2010, and sent to jail. Pedram Nasrollahi was originally arrested on November 12, 2009, on the charge of taking part in a demonstration protesting the execution of Ehsan Fatahian and was imprisoned for many months until he was released on bail. In court Pedram was sentenced to six months imprisonment, however the Appeal Court reduced this to a fine of a million tomans ($1000). Yesterday, following the Judiciary’s Sentence Implementation body summoning him, Pedram Nasrollahi was arrested and then transferred to Sanandaj’s central prison.
