Saeed Torabian released after 42 days in prison
Saeed Torabian, a member of the Executive Committee and the Public Relations Officer of the Tehran and Suburbs Vahed [United] Bus Company Union, has been released after being held in prison for 42 days. He was arrested at his home in Tehran on June 9. The following is a statement by the Vahed Union on Saeed Torabian’s release. Saeed Torabian was arrested on June 9 at his home. They charged him falsely with acting against national security and propaganda against the regime. While sincerely congratulating Mr. Torabian’s friends, family and co-workers, as well as all workers and labour organisations that throughout Saeed’s detention made every effort for his release, the Tehran and Suburbs Vahed Bus Company Union demands the immediate and unconditional release of Ebrahim Madadi, Reza Shahabi, Mansour Osanloo, and all imprisoned workers. All sacked workers who are members of the Vahed Union and the Haft Tapeh Sugar Cane Company Workers’ Trade Union must be reinstated immediately and their prosecutions dropped.
