Re: Protesting the Presence of Labour House at the ILC

Dear Mr. Somavia;

According to information we have received, at the 93rd Session of the International Labour Conference, which will take place in Geneva, 31st May-16th June unfortunately, once again, those attending with the name of Iranian workers have not been democratically elected as representatives and only represent the government-affiliated Labour House party.

With this letter, we independent labour organizations announce that these participants are not the real representatives of Iranian workers, and register our strongest opposition to their presence at the ILO gathering. As you are aware, Mr. Hassan Sadeghi and Parviz Ahmadi Panjaki were amongst those who attacked the meeting of the Founding Board of Tehran Public Bus Transportation Company Workers’ Union and physically assaulted and injured members of the union.  The criminal dossier regarding this attack is currently with section 11 of Tehran judicial committee following its procedure.

Through this letter we ask you to prevent the participation of these individuals in your session and that you take necessary steps to allow the participation of genuine representatives of Iranian workers in such assemblies.

Signed by:

The Committee to Follow up the Establishment of Free Labour organisations-Iran

The Cultural Society in Support of Workers -Iran

The Founding Board of Tehran Public Bus Transportation Company Workers’ Union

The Founding Board of Labour Unions - Iran
