Hamadan Rolling and Aluminium Industries

Hamadan Rolling and Aluminium Industries, which has a number of separate factories, is located in south-east Hamadan (in Hamadan province, eastern Iran). The company’s factories and mills include a separation plant, a large furnace and a metallurgical plant. About 230 people are exploited in this complex, with only 75 permanent workers and the rest earning their wages as contract workers.

None of the women workers in this complex are permanent workers and their wages are 30 per cent lower than those of the men.

The plant was set up by a gang of high-ranking capitalists from Hamadan and Zanjan and the exports of this complex last year exceeded $48 million. All those products were exported to Iraq and the profits were so great that the capitalists have begun building other factories in Arbil in Iraq.
