Shahrokh Zamani arrested

On Sunday January 15 2012 Shahrokh Zamani was arrested at his workplace in Tabriz, north-western Iran. Shahrokh is a member of the Re-launching Committee of the Trade Union of Painters and Decorators. So far details about his arrest, including the reason and by which security body, are not known. It is also not clear where he is being held.

Shahrokh's previous court case, for which he was sentenced to 11 years in prison, has been disputed by him and has been referred to Court 28 of the High Court. It is therefore assumed that the latest arrest is not related to the previous court case, as that case has not yet been handed over to the sentencing court.
